Welcome back to 1976!
On November 9th and 10th 2016, the Bicentennial Junk Collection was displayed as an exhibit in UCF’s Art in Odd Places. American flag arrows led the way to room 534 in Colbourn Hall. In the hallway of the 5th floor, we displayed the original 1976 TV special of Jean Shepherd’s America featuring Dr. Crepeau. Then, in room 534, we created an immersive 1976 atmosphere complete with objects from the collection displayed everywhere in the room including the star of our show: a 7-up can sculpture of Uncle Sam. Cans, condoms, and condiments, oh my! We hope you were able to catch this rare, eclectic collection!
